Export training programme on “Fish and marine products”
Visvesvaraya trade promotion center (VTPC), KAPPEC, GOK, Bangalore and Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, College of Fisheries, Mangalore, jointly organized an Export training programme on Fish and Marine products at College of Fisheries, Mangalore for the benefit of New entrepreneurs, self-help groups, FPO’s, exporters, progressive fish processors from 19.12.2022 to 22.12.2022. Shri. Banthanal, MD, KAPPEC, Bangalore Inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Sri. Gokul Das Nayak, Joint Director of Industry, Smt. Seetha, Joint Director of Agriculture, Mangalore and Dr. Nagaveni, C., Advisor to VTPC, Bangalore were presented as invitees and graced the occasion. Dr. Shivakumar Magad, Dean, College of Fisheries, Mangalore, presided the function. Dr. B. Manjanaik, Professor and Head Department of Fish processing technology, College of Fisheries, Mangalore co –ordinated the programme. There were 12 resource persons from different areas were participated and presented their talk in the programme. 70 participants from different parts of the Karnataka were participated in the training programme and benefitted. The valedictory function was organised on 22.12.2022 and certificates were distributed to the participants.

WORLD FISHERIES DAY - 2022
The Department of Fisheries Resources and Management, College of Fisheries - KVAFSU, Mangaluru in collaboration with Pillay Aquaculture Foundation, COFAA, Mangalore and Aditya Birla Capitals, celebrated World Fisheries Day- 2022 on 21-11-2022 under the theme “Healthy Ocean Ecosystems”. Dr H N Anjaneyappa, Head of Division highlighted the importance of World Fisheries Day. Dr S M Shivaprakash Former Dean and Executive Member of Pillay Aquaculture Foundation, inaugurated the programme and apprised about the importance of healthy Oceans and fisheries resources. The chief guest of the program, Dr Y Basavaraju, Former Dean, College of Fisheries, Mangalore spoke on the importance of world fisheries day and Dr B Mohana Kumar, Associate Professor, Nitte University Centre for Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine (NUCSReM) was present in the program. Dr Shivakumar Magada, Dean (Fisheries) presided the program. After inaugural program, technical sessions were followed, the first session was by Dr. Y. Basavaraju on “ Indian Aquaculture –An over view” focusing on aquaculture, marine and brackish water fish culture, quality feed, quality seeds, certification, constraints and strategies to unlock prospects. Mr. Ravi Kharvi, a Progressive farmer shared his experience in cage culture. Dr. Mridula Rajesh, Associate Professor and Dr. Kumar Naik A S, Associate Professor Co-ordinated the program. The event was compered by Ms. Anjum N M, PG Scholar, Dr. Nayana P, Assistant Professor welcomed the guests and Ms. Shruthi, PG scholar proposed the vote of thanks. Students from various colleges participated in the poster making competition.

TRAINING ON ‘LIVELIHOOD IN FISHERIES: AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME’
A one-day training on ‘Livelihood in Fisheries : An Awareness Programme’ was organised for 75 beneficiaries at ST clusters of Punacha village in Bantwal taluk on 7th October, 2022. This programme was conducted under the scheme of ICAR-TSP grants. The training was organized in collaboration with Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Mission, Dakshina Kannada dist.
The training programme was inaugurated by the Dean of college Dr. Shivakumar M., Mrs Lavanya, Panchayath Development Officer was the Chief guest. Mr. Ramanna, Secretary of Punacha Grama Panchayth was guest of honour. Mrs. Malathi, President of Punacha-Kepu villages Vanadhana Vikasa Kendra presided over the function.
Dr. A.T. Ramachandra Naik, Professor and SCSP-TSP Coordinator cum Training Organizer, briefed about the purpose of training and welcomed the guests and trainees. Mr. Hariprasad Gowda, Programme Manager, Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Mission, Dakshina Kannada dist. proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Renuka compiled the programme. Mrs. Lalitha K.P. invocated.
Important topics covered during the training programme followed by demonstration were: (a) Schemes available for farmers; (b) Fish farming and income generation (c) Outline of skill development programmes in fisheries; (d) Value of fish and fishery products and importance; (e) Entrepreneurship development in fish and fisheries and (f) Demonstration on preparation of important products viz, Prawn chutney powder, Prawn pickle and Fish chakkuli.

TRAINING ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN FISHERIES
A five-day training on ‘Skill Development in Fisheries for the benefit of Scheduled Caste Fishers/ Fish Farmers/ Entrepreneurs’ was organised for two batches from 21 to 25 September, 2022 at Brahmavara, Udupi–dist. This programme was sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDP), Hyderabad under SCSP Scheme. The training was conducted jointly with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bramhavara, M/s National Rural Livelihood Mission and M/s Sanjeevini SHGs
Altogether, 30+30 trainees were participated in the training. The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sudhir Kamath K., Principal of Diploma College of Agriculture and i/c Associate Director of Research, Zonal Agricultural and Horticulture Research Station, Brahmavara. Dr. Dhanajaya B., Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Brahmavara presided over the function.
Dr. A.T. Ramachandra Naik, Professor cum Coordinator of Skill Development Centre and Training Organizer, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru briefed about the purpose of training and welcomed the guests and traainees. Mr. Srinvas Hulkoti, Scientist (Fisheries Sciences), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Brahmavara was the Master of Ceremony and proposed vote of thanks.
Important topics covered during the training programme followed by demonstration were: (a) Outline of skill development programmes in fisheries; (b) Fish in human nourishment; (c) Sensitisation of fish and fishery products and prominence; (d) Customer favourites and promotion approaches for fish foodstuffs; (e) Entrepreneurship development in fish and fisheries and (f) Preparation of various products viz, Prawn chutney powder, Prawn pickle, Fish cutlet, Fish wafers, Fish papad, Fish chakkuli, Fish Biryani, Fish Kebab etc.
Field exposure visits were also arranged for the participants to study the a) ‘fish processing activities and prepared products and their preservations’ and b) cage fish farming activities at Kundapur back waters.

Launching of ‘Samarth eGov Suite’ in the college
The ‘Samarth eGov Suite’, an University operations allowing to achieve operational excellence and improve productivity while meeting stakeholder’s expectations to implement automation system facilitated by Delhi University – an Enterprise Resource Planning System of ‘Samarth eGov Suite’ has been launched in the college on 17.09.2022. It is an University Information Management System Project called ‘Samarth eGov Suit’–a portal of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. During the occasion, (a) Apply of employees Leave and (b) File tracking and management systems have been demonstrated to implement at college level. A user friendly on-line communications tools are being made easy for the teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college.
The Dean of college Dr. Shivakumar M. briefed about the importance and implementation of the project. Dr. Ganga Naik S., Nodal Officer of Samarth eGov Suit gave a demonstration on its application. Dr. A.T. Ramachandra Naik, Module Administrator facilitated the launching programme.

COACHING ON COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION/ PREPARATION FOR JRF/ PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT/ E-LEARNING
A ten-day coaching class under SCSP-TSP Scheme of College of Fisheries was conducted in collaboration with M/s Sarvajna IAS Academy, Mangaluru. Special Coaching classes for the benefit of students for appearing Competitive examination/ Preparation for JRF/ Personality development/ e-learning etc. were organized from 15 to 24 September, 2022 at Prof. H.P.C. Shetty seminar hall. The Undergraduate and postgraduate students were given coaching.
Dr. Shivakumar M., Dean of College of Fisheries, Mangaluru spoke on the occasion and advised the students to make use of the coaching classes for preparing various competitive examinations including key to success in their professional career. Shri Suresh M.S., Managing Director, M/s Sarvajna IAS Academy, Mangaluru suggested the students to take up challenging tasks to succeed in life. Dr. A.T. Ramachandra Naik, Professor & Coordinator of SCSP-TSP Scheme welcomed the guests. He had coordinated in organizing this coaching class in the college.

ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ, ಪಶು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಬೀದರ, ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಉಡುಪಿ, ಹಾಗು ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಟಿ ಡೆವಲೆಪಮೆಂಟ್ ಅಂಡ್ ವಿಮೆನ್ ಎಂಪವರ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ (SCODWES), ಶಿರಸಿ ರವರ ಜಂಟಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ “ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ದಿತ ಮೀನಿನ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 21 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2022 ರಂದು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ ಗಣೇಶ್ , ಜಂಟಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಉಡುಪಿ, ಇವರು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರವನ್ನು ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಕಿರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಣ್ಣ ಆಹಾರ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ದಿತ ಮೀನಿನ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಆರ್ಥಿಕಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರ ಮೀನುಗಾರರು ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಲಾಭಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಹೊಸ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ತಯಾರುಮಾಡಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ , ಜಿ ಮ್, ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ನೀಲಕಂಠ ಶೇಷಗಿರಿ, (SCODWES), ಶಿರಸಿ ರವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಸದುಪಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿ ನುಡಿದರು. ತರಬೇತಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಡಾ|| ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ಮಗಧ, ಡೀನ್, ಮಿನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣವನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಲಾಭಗಳ ಬಗೆ,್ಗ ಮೀನಿನ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ, ತಾಜಾತನ, ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡಿಂಗ್, ಪರವಾನಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಡಾ|| ಬಿ. ಮಂಜಾನಾಯ್ಕ, ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಹಾಗೂ PMFME – ODOPಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರು, ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಿರುಪರಿಚಯ ನೀಡಿ ಎಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯಾತಿ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಫಲಾನುಭವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ|| ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ.ಗಣೇಶ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಎಲ್. ರವರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

WORKSHOP AND HANDS ON TRAINING PROGRAMME ON ANTI-PLAGIARISM SOFTWARE “ OURGINAL (URKUND)” HELD ON 20-08-2022
A one-day “Workshop and Hands on training Programme on Anti-Plagiarism Software “Ourginal (URKUND) was held on 20-09-2022 at our campus. The objective of the programme was to create awareness about Anti-plagiarism software and its impact on research output. Dr. Parshuram Kattimani, University Librarian, Central University of Karnataka, Kalburgi was invited as the resource person for the programme. The event was organized by the Library & Information Centre of the campus. All the teaching staff & post-graduation students actively participated in the event.

Save Soil
"Save Soil" Campaign was organized at College of Fisheries in collaboration with ICAR-KVK, Dakshina Kannada and Isha Foundation, Coimbatore. A 17 year old Mr Sahil Jha from Kolkatha who is on a Cycle rally throughout the nation creating awareness on soil among youths and the public was the chief guest and shared his experience among the students. Dr Shivakumar M, Dean (Fisheries) presided over the function and addressed the gathering and said that each one of us can act in our own way to conserve soil. He preached the oath "Let us make it happen". Mr Praveen and Mr Dinakar from Isha foundation, Dr Mallikarjun, Soil Scientist, Dr Shivakumar, Scientist- Animal Science, Dr Lakshmpathi, HoD, Dept. of Aquatic Environment Management, Dr Annappaswamy and students and staff members were present in the program.

National Fish Farmers Day celebration, 2022
The College of Fisheries, Mangalore in collaboration with Department of Fisheries, Government of Karnataka, Asian Fisheries Society, Indian Branch and Pillay Aquaculture Foundation celebrated National Fish Farmers Day on 11th July, 2022 in the college auditorium.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri. S. Angara, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport. He addressed the gathering regarding the importance of research and advanced technologies in the field of fisheries. He stressed on the need to improve the economic stability of the fishermen by avoiding the middlemen exploitations. Further, he urged the fishermen to avail the subsidy assistance provided by the Government of India for the development of deep sea fisheries.

The Chief guest of the programme, Dr. S. M. Shivaprakash, Executive Member, Pillay Aquaculture Foundation spoke on the different culture practices in fish farming. Shri. Harish Kumar, Joint Director, Department of Fisheries, Government of Karnataka briefed regarding the schemes and various programmes to boost the fisheries sector. Dr. K.M. Rajesh, Principal Scientist (CMFRI) and Secretary, Asian Fisheries Society, Indian Branch highlighted the innovations in the field of fisheries. The event was attended by 28 fish farmers. On this occasion, Hon’ble minister felicitated ‘Best Fish Farmer’ award to the selected farmers.
Dr. Shivakumar M., Dean, College of Fisheries, Mangalore in his presidential remarks spoke about the significance of Fish Farmers Day and also requested the Hon’ble Minister to fill the vacant Assistant Professor posts in the College Fisheries, Mangalore.

Ideathon and Hackathon Aquamarine -2022
The College of Fisheries, Mangaluru under the project ABIC-AM organized Ideathon and Hackathon Aquamarine-2022 on 22nd June 2022 in the college auditorium. Dr K M Shankar, Former Dean of CoF and Emeritus Scientist and NAAS Fellow was the inaugurator of this event. Dr Indrani Karunasagar, Director, Projects & DST-Tech, NITTE DU, Dr B A Shamasundar, Senior Food Technologist, Mysuru were the Chief Guests for the event. The event was presided by Dr Shivakumar Magada, Professor and Dean, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru.
During the technical sessions, the keynote speakers Dr Indrani Karunasagar- Director, Projects & DST-Tech, NITTE DU, Dr Srinikethan- Director, NITTE, DU, Dr K M Shankar Former Dean, College of Fisheries, Dr B A Shamasundar- Senior Food Technologists, Dr Anirban Chakravarthy - Dean, NUSCER, NITTE DU, Dr Karthik Ramachandran of Vetbiotics, Mumbai, Mr. Pradeep Rao, Founder of Evolved Foods, Bangalore, Mr KV Prakash, MD, Ecomolt Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, Dr Ram Savan, Associate Professor, Dept of Immunology, Washington University, Mr Gowtham Nayak, COO of InUnity and Mr Datta Arote, COO of Gadre Marine shared their experiences on various biotechnology topics.
The event was attended by 157 post graduate students from 15 different colleges, 35 post graduates, 40 UG students from College of Fisheries, Mangalore, 25 faculty members of KVAFSU, Bidar, 15 invitees, 12 keynote speakers and an exhibitor from Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu exhibited 16 varieties of seaweeds and the products/ by-products of seaweeds.
Four teams from Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, PA College of Engineering, and Sahyadri College of Engineering presented their concepts in the Hackathon. The committee suggested them submit the same after the incorporation of the suggestions. An interactive and plenary session was held with the panelist like Dr Ashwin Rai, Dr Anirban Chakravarthy, Dr Shivakumar Magada, Ms. Divya Hegde, Dr Rama Bhat and Mr Gowtham Nayak.

FRESHER’S DAY & ETHNIC DAY CELEBRATION on 3rd June 2022:
The ethnic day was observed on 3rd June 2022, the Team Ocean Samaritans, II B.F.Sc. Students were organised the function, all the staff and students were in traditional dress and ramp walk was conducted for staff and students.
Fresher’s day programme was held on 3.06.2022, at 3.30 P.M. the newly recruited first year B.F.Sc students were welcomed by the second year B.F.Sc students. Mr. Datta Arote,Chief operating officer, Gadre Marine Export Pvt. Ltd. Maharashtra was the inaugurator of the function he spoke about the opportunities in fisheries sector, the chief guest Dr. Priyadarshini , Director of Harsha Modern Diagnostics Centre , Mangalore, she spoke about the Women empowerment and women health. The function was presided by Dr. Shivakumar Magada, Dean (Fisheries). The newly admitted first year BFSc students performed various cultural events.

- The Sport event ‘Swarna Kabaddi Cup 2022’ was conducted from 1st to 3rd May 2022 at boys’ hostel ground on the eve of Basava Jayanti. The tournament was organized in a professional way by the batch ‘SwarnaMatsya’ [IV BFSc students].
- The tournament was inaugurated on 1st May 2022 at 9.30 am. by Dr. H N Anjaneyappa, Dean in-charge, COFM. The event was initiated with National Anthem. Mr. Manoj Kumar, Head, Dept. of Physical Education, Dr.Girisha S K, Head, Dept. of AAHM and Dr. Kumar NaikA S, Associate Professor were also present during the event and graced the inaugural function.
- The Matches were played on league cum knockout. Five teams from boys section and four teams from girls section participated in the tournament. In league matches,
- In Boy’s Section Aqua Tridents (III BFSc) and SwarnaMastya (IV BFSc) topped the game.

College of Fisheries, Mangaluru observed World Fish Migration Day (WFMD) and World Biodiversity Day on 23rd May, 2022
The College of Fisheries, Mangalore in collaboration with Bay of Bengal Programme- IGO, Department of Fisheries, GOK and Asian Fisheries Society Indian Branch observed World Fish Migration Day (WFMD) and World Biodiversity Day on 23rd May, 2022 in the College.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr P. Krishnan Director, BOBP-IGO and he in his talk narrated the impact on mahseer and hilsa fisheries due to habitat changes and impediments on migration routes. He highlighted the need for joining hands towards commissioning studies to track the migration routes of fishes, evaluate suitable fish passages for various locations and demonstrate success of planned interventions to facilitate regional scale-up. Chief Guest Mr Derek D’Souza, Managing Director, Pelagic Tribe and International angler spoke on the development of sports fishery in India and its significance in the tourism industry. He also stressed on the effect of dams on the route of migratory fishes, importance of free flowing rivers, conservation and protection of endangered species like maheer, trouts. Dean of College of Fisheries, Mangalore Dr Shivakumar Magada presided over the function. Dr S. R. Somashekar, Professor and Head of the Department, FESE welcomed the gathering while Dr Mridula Rajesh, Associate Professor Department of FRM proposed the vote of thanks. Faculty Development Programme on Competency Enhancement conducted
A five-day training was organised in the college for the benefit of teaching faculty of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) from 17 to 21 May, 2022. The training on ‘Faculty Development Programme on Competency Enhancement in Agricultural Research’ and Education was sponsored by National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad a sister institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
Inauguration:
The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. K.C. Veeranna, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of KVAFSU on 17.05 2022. He said that the policy matters in the development of faculty must be given priority however teaching, research and extension must be integrated in order to update the knowledge of teachers serving in farm sciences universities thereby quality students can be produced.
Further, he added that the students can have a comprehensive knowledge of integration of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Dairying and Fisheries to be taken into account while implementing their learning in the field. He stressed a need based research must be carried out to reach the farming communities whereby farmers income could be enhanced.
Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director of ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad said that the ‘Faculty Development Programme on Competency Enhancement of Agricultural Research’ is being conducted across the country imparting skilled and advanced knowledge of teaching, research and transfer of technology to the teaching faculty of farm sciences universities. Thus, it is important to comprehend that in present scenario the quality of teaching is need of the hour in capacity building of a teacher.
He further stressed, that there need to be implementation of policy in drinking water, high rainfall area, marine, drinking water etc. since water is becoming crisis. The climate change, plant degradation, agribusiness management are the areas are to be addressed in order to mitigate the environmental stress. However, skill developmental accomplishments are to be imparted while teaching thereby the students get effective communication skills and learn by practicing knowledge imparted by the teachers.
He added that, all problems with regard to agricultural produces are being faced by India and hence, one should be good to best and better to inspire and motivate the teaching fraternity thereby the information may perhaps be inculcated among the students in higher education systems.
Dr. Shivakumar M., Dean of college in his presidential remarks said that the teaching is a continuous process of learning thereby latest information through literature survey followed by research and development, one can impart quality education.

The General Body meeting of the Asian Fisheries Society Indian Branch (AFSIB) was held on 5th May 2022 during the 12th Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum (IFAF) organized by Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University at Chennai. During the meeting, the 13th Executive Committee was formed. Among the other members of the committee, the Dean of College of Fisheries, Mangalore Dr. Shivakumar M. has been elected as Vice Chairman of AFSIB, Dr. S. K. Girisha as Treasurer and Dr. Mridula Rajesh as the Executive Committee member for the period 2022-2025.

Training on ‘Academic and Administrative Matter’
The SCSP-TSP Scheme of the college organised a two day training on ‘Academic and Administrative Matter’ for the benefit of Teaching and non-teaching staff from 30 to 31 March, 2022. During the training programme, trainees were given the knowledge of KCSR service benefits, general conditions of services, joining time, types of leave and rules, SR maintenance, pension, NPS, pay fixation, conduct rules–2021, CCA rules (departmental Inquiries), Karnataka Financial Code GIST, financial rules & advances, office procedure etc.

Training on Skill Development prograammes in Fisheries
The ‘Skill Development in Fisheries and Safety Training Centre’ (SDFSTC)organised a five day training to Scheduled Caste (SC) Fishers/ Fish Farmers/ Entrepreneurs on ‘Value Added Fish Products’ from 18 to 22 March, 2022 at Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada–dist. The training was sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad under SCSP Scheme. Altogether, 30 participants were engaged for the training.
The training programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Asha Serdana, President, Grama Panchayath, Laila and presided by Mrs. Yashoda, President, Samagra Sanjivini Grama Mattada Okkuta, Belthangadi. Other guests present during the occasion were Mr. Jayananada, Taluka Valaya Melvicharakaru, Belthangadi; Mrs. Veena, Panchayath Officer; Mrs. Savithri K., Secretary, Snaha Sanjivini.

ಸುಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ವಿಫುಲ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು-ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರ
ಕರಾವಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ, ಪಶು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಬೀದರ, ರವರ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ (ಕುಮಟಾ, ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಮತ್ತು ಭಟ್ಕಳ) ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ “ಸುಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ವಿಫುಲ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು” ಬಗ್ಗೆ 2 ದಿನಗಳ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 14 – 15 ನೇ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2022 ರಂದು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದಿನಾಂಕ 14 ನೇ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್, 2022 ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳು, ಕರಾವಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ರವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸುಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಿ ಉತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ (ಕುಮಟಾ, ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಮತ್ತು ಭಟ್ಕಳ) ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರ ಮೀನುಗಾರರು ಕರಾವಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರಿಂದ PMSSY ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದರು.
ಕರಾವಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಸುಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಉಡುಪಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಸಹ ಸಹಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವುವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕಾರವಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂಕೋಲ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳು, ಕರಾವಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ರವರು ಒಣಮೀನಿನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀನುಗಾರರ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಸುವಿಸ್ಥಾರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹಯೋಗದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ದೊರಕುವ ಲಾಭದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅನುಧಾನದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಖ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ. ಪಿ. ನಾಗರಾಜ್, ಜಂಟಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಕಾರವಾರ ಇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇರುವ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವೆಯ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣಮೀನು, ಸಿಹಿನೀರು ಮೀನು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಆಹಾರ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಗಳೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಒಡನಾಟವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು. ಮೀನಿನ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯವಾಗಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ನೂನ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕರಾವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಣಮೀನು ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಲಾಭಗಳ, ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಸುಧಾರಿತ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪದಾರ್ಥದ ಮೌಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಕಲೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಮೀನಿನ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರುವ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಮೇಸ್ತಾ, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಹಕಾರ ಸಂಘ, ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಹಾಗು ಶ್ರೀ ಅಮ್ಜಾ ಪಟೇಲ್, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಹಕಾರ ಸಂಘ, ಕಾಸರಕೋಡ್ ಇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಈ ತರಹದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯೆಂದು ಆಶಿಸಿದರು.
ಡಾ|| ಬಿ. ಮಂಜಾನಾಯ್ಕ, ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು, ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಇವರು ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಿರುಪರಿಚಯ ನೀಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸುಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಒಣ ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಮೀನನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ಯಾಕೇಜ್, ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್, FSSAI ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕಾಂಶಗಳ ವಿವರ, ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಚ್ಚತೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಮಾರಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಂಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಒಣ ಮೀನನ್ನು ಮಳೆಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ನಿಷೇಧದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ|| ಅರುಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಡಾ|| ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಗೋಕುಲ್, ನಂದನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ್ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಆಯೋಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕೊನೆಯದಾಗಿ ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಡಾ|| ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ, ಇವರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತ ಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ತರಬೇತಿಯ ಕೊನೆಯದಿನದಂದು ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊನ್ನಾವರದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಒಣಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ಘಟಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ, ಪಶು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಬೀದರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಉಡುಪಿ ರವರ ಜಂಟಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ 37 ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀನುಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಣ್ಣ ಆಹಾರ ಉದ್ಯಮ ಸಾಂಸ್ಥೀಕರಣ, ಒಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ಒಂದು ಉತ್ಪನ್ನ (ODOP) ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧಿತ ಮೀನು ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 9ನೇ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2022ರಂದು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಡಾ|| ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಗದ, ಡೀನ್, ಮಿನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿ ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕವಾಗಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಬಳಿಕ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧಿತ ಮೀನಿನ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನ”ಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಫುಲ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿದರು. ಮೀನುಗಾರ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಇದೊಂದು ಸದಾವಕಾಶ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದರು. ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಮೀನು ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರಾದ ಡಾ|| ಬಿ. ಮಂಜಾನಾಯ್ಕ, ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಿರುಪರಿಚಯ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಡಾ|| ಎಸ್. ವರದರಾಜು, ಕು. ಸುಮಲತ, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ. ದಿವಾಕರ ಕಾರ್ವಿ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಉಡುಪಿ ರವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮೀನಿನ ಉಪ್ಪಿನಕಾಯಿ, ಸಿಗಡಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿನಕಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಒಣ ಸಿಗಡಿ ಚಟ್ನಿ ಪುಡಿ ತಯಾರಿಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಡಾ|| ಸಿದ್ದಪ್ಪಾಜಿ ಎಸ್, ಸಹ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಶ್ರೀ.ಗಣೇಶ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಎಲ್. ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಡಾ|| ಎಮ್. ವಿ. ಚಂದ್ರ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಡಾ|| ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ. ಗಣೇಶ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಎಲ್ರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ, ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

Dr. S. Ayyappan conferred with Padmashri Award
We are glad to announce that one of our alumni, Dr. S.Ayyappan, 1975 BFSc, has been conferred with Padma Shri award 2022, the highest civilian award of India. COF, Mangalore whole heartedly congratulates Dr. Ayyappan, and wish him many more years of active service and many more awards. All the faculty and students of COF, Mangalore are proud of him and his achievements. He is the best role model and a great source of inspiration for all."
Dr. S. Ayyappan, Alumnus of College of Fisheries belongs to 1971-75 batch honored with Padmashri Award by the Government of India. He is former Director General of ICAR and Secretary, DARE, Vice-chancellor of CIFE, Mumbai, Director, CIFA, Bhubaneswar.
"He is a Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India; Society of Nature Conservators, India; Bioved Society, India; Inland Fisheries Society of India; Zoological Society of India; Association of Aquaculturists; National Institute of Ecology; Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology; Academy of Environmental Biology; Society of Biosciences; and ISEP Science Academy. Dr. Ayyappan’s awards include Zahoor Qasim Gold Medal for the Society of Biosciences in India (1996-1997), Special ICAR Award (1997), ICAR Award for Team Research as the Team leader for significant contributions in fisheries (1997-1998), Zoological Society of India Gold Medal (1998), Recognition Award (Animal Sciences) of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences in India (2001-2002), Dr. V.G. Jhingran Gold medal (2002), Prof. H.P.C. Shetty Award for Excellence in Fisheries Research and Development, Asian Fisheries Society, Indian Branch (2002), Dr. S.R. Bhargava Medal (2003), and Dr. S.L. Hora Gold Medal (2003). Dr. Ayyappan holds a PhD from Bangalore University and a master’s degree in Fish Production and Management from the College of Fisheries in Mangalore. He has published extensively in areas of fisheries, limnology, and aquatic microbiology."
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION 26.01.2022
College of Fisheries, Mangaluru (COFM) celebrated 73rd Republic Day on 26.01.2022 in the College campus. During the occasion, CPO(R) Mr. Vikram Datta, Indian Navy was invited as the Chief Guest for the programme. The Dean Dr. Shivakumar M. hoisted the National flag. On the occasion Republic Day celebration, LAPTOPS were distributed to the SC/ST Students’ of the college under SCSP-TSP Programme. In the name of Dean's Cup, Shuttle Badminton tournament was also organized in the college. The programme was organized by the Department of Physical Education.
