NSS PROGRAMME 2017

Under the leadership of the NSS Programme Officer, Dr A. T. Ramachandra Naik,  NSS annual special camp was conducted at Badaga Edapadavu, Mijaru, D.K. – dist in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dakshina Kannada, Directorate of Extension, KVAFSU, Bidar & Sri Sasthavu Bhutanatheswara Trust (Reg.) from 11 to 17 November, 2017 with a theme Sasthavu Krishi Sambrama.

The activities of the camp were to clean the premises of School, Temples, repair of play ground and roads, demonstration on preparation of Kitchen garden, preparation of value added products and employment opportunities, studies on activities of Self Help Groups (SHGs).  In addition to this there was a Farmers-Scientist-Student interaction meet.

Agricultural Education Day was organized by the NSS unit of the college on 3rd December, 2017 the Birth Day of first Union Minister of Agriculture of India and first President of Independent India, Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The prime objective of this day was mainly to expose the students to various facets of agriculture and its relevance to country’s development. During the programme, the High school and Pre-University students were given information on role of agricultural education in the country. A quiz competition was also held during the occasion and the winners were distributed with the Certificates and mementoes.

The NSS unit of the College jointly with M/s Saaketa Driving School, Mangaluru organized a talk on ‘Road Safety and its Awareness’ for the benefit of staff and students of our college. This initiative was to educate all about the positive role in enhancing road safety.
