This is a two years postgraduate course Offered in Aquaculture

  2. Fisheries Microbiology
  3. Fisheries Engineering and Technology
  4. Fish Processing Technology
  5. Fisheries Resources and Management
M.F.Sc. programme is partly by course work and partly by research with a total number of 45 credit hours to complete.
The College imparts its academic programmes in Semester system.

Eligibility criteria for admission
Master’s programme :

  • A bachelor’s degree in the respective discipline/ group of subject from a recognized University.
  • 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.5/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-1 candidates  at bachelor’s degree level.

Mode of Admission

  • Application for admission shall be made to the Registrar, KVAFSU, Bidar in the prescribed form, as per the Notification issued by the University from time to time.
  • Eligible applicants shall be required to appear for the written test and counseling at their own cost at the place and time specified by the University when called for.

Written test for Master’s Degree Programme

  • All eligible candidates shall have to appear for a written test of 100 marks in the subject Group D- Fisheries Sciences). ICAR and GOI nominees/Foreign Nationals/NRI’s / NRI sponsored are exempted from the written test.
  • The written test for admission to Master’s degree Programme shall be of undergraduate level and consists of 100 objective type questions with four responses. Each question shall carry one mark and the maximum marks will be 100. The examination will be of 2 hours duration.
  • All questions in the group shall be drawn equally from among the subjects of that group.
  • Admission to entrance test does not confer on the candidate the right of admission to the Master’s programme and pattern of written test is subject to change as decided by the University from time to time.

Admission to Master’s  Degree Programmes shall be determined on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate as indicated below.

Counseling and mode of allocation of seats

  • A common interse merit for the group will be prepared as per the PG regulation. The admission committee will allot the seats subject wise on the counseling date based on the merit, subject to availability of seats and reservation policy of state Government and adopted by the University from time to time.
  • The admission of candidate recommended by the Admission committee  constituted by the University is subject to the following conditions.
    1. Seats being vacant
    2. Payment of prescribed fees, on or before the notified date
    3. Production of original testimonials.
